March Metal Madness

So you're not a basketball fan, you hated college and the only time you're in an arena is for a concert... well 'March Metal Madness' is for you.

The talented websters at Loudwire came up with the metal thrashing madness idea, and frankly I'm diggin' it.

Here is the first bracket: Devil Horn Region – Round 1

From their website: The first round Devil Horn Region match-ups in March Metal Madness contain some colossal head-to-head action.

Black Sabbath and their legendary track ‘Paranoid’ are set to face Brazilian metallers Sepultura and their opus, ‘Refuse/Resist.’

Another two iconic acts will face each other in round one of the Devil Horn Region, with Megadeth and their monster track ‘Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying?’ taking on ‘Holy Diver’ by the late legend Ronnie James Dio, for whom we named this division after.

We’ve also got some interesting pairs that pit old-school vs. new school. Van Halen‘s ‘Runnin’ with the Devil’ is set to fight Marilyn Manson‘s ‘The Beautiful People.’

Additionally, thrash masters Slayer and the immortal ‘Raining Blood’ will face ‘Freak on a Leash’ by nu-metal pioneers Korn.

Go to Loudwire's site, cast your ballot and check in to see who advances to the next round of the Devil Horn bracket.

And hey, if your favourite song/band doesn't win you can always watch the cheerleaders.

(FYI: Voting for Round 1 closes on Sunday, March 18 at 11:59 PM ET.)
