Joyrides That Won't Get You 3 to 5 Years!

.
I don't know if you've ever heard of Joyrides Art Company & Photography, but they do some very cool $hit. They're self described as photographers of the old school hot rod and chopper scene!

Because I don't make any money off this site, nor am I affiliated or 'officially' working with or for any other publication, I have no probs posting this link.

This is the feature they did on Denver Dan. Here's just a few pics from their myspace site. If you've got a minute take a peek... the snaps are sic!

(go to their site to see where DD got these wicked exhaust tips)

All pics courtesy/borrowed from Joyrides.
.
There are way more kick-a$$ photos on their site and the articles are rad as well. Enjoy.

Oh and to those at Joyrides... if you're lookin' for a Canadian correspondent, have your guy call my guy, we'll do lunch!

Sunday Night Cruise #3

I took a number of pics at Cruise Night at the Pony, but I thought I'd starts with a couple of classics motorcycles.

Just look at these beauts! A Norton and Triumph.

I believe this Triumph is fairly new (I didn't see the owner near by).

Triumph went bankrupt in 1983 after building classic motorcycles for over one hundred years. Shortly after that a guy named John Bloor bought the brand and the company reemerged in the late 80's, early 90's.

History schmistory... with that name-plate and those exhaust pipes comin' out of the front of the engine like that, it just screams nostalgia!

(click on pic for super huge image)

I'm not sure of the exact year of this 850 Norton Commando either (cerca 74 & it's no retro mod), but one thing I do know... it's in freakn' immaculate shape!

It's like it rolled off the assembly line last week. I wish I had a chance to sit down and chat with the owner. Look at that brake caliper!

Ya nice.

like I said... I've got more snaps of some hot rods and classic cars that I'll post in the coming days.

Motörhead in Minneapolis... Lame?

POST UPDATE:
This video was recently posted on YouTube of Motörhead in
Minneapolis. The quality isn't the greatest, but it'll give you an idea of what the venue (First Avenue) is like.

The first show kicking off the North American tour is in the books. That means Mikkey is on his way back to Sweden (refer to post Mikkey's out Matt Sorum is in!).

No reviews (it is early, I may post an update) but I did find these pics on Flickr.

All thanks to plesserchicks Motörhead photostream .

Here's where the crew let loose Aug. 28/09 at First Avenue in Minneapolis.

While the boys look to be suffering from a little jet lag... a moron, oops, a writer for A.V. Twin Cities Decider has decided Motörhead is um, lame!?! Here's a peek at the article twincities.decider.com.

Phil doesn't seem to give a rats bottom what Dave thinks.

(Dave is on the right)

It's futile for me to wage an argument or try to impose upon him the true greatness of the loudest trio on the planet. Let-alone speak of the multitude of reasons why Lemmy & the boys are one of the best bands and/or most gifted musicians to ever sling guitars around their necks or sit in front of a drum kit... so I won't even try! I do love the comments posted following his article, well worth the read!

Maybe that's why Lemmy has such a scowl on his face. I mean Dave, like everyone else, is entitled to his opinion... even if it's wrong!

Vanillaroma #2 (update)

POST UPDATE: The Air freshener Glenn tied to the mirror of my bike finally fell off on the ride home (refer to post - Vanillaroma).

That's right, I found out who the joker was who pulled the prank in the first place. It was my buddy, co-worker and fellow biker Glenn (refer to post Sunday Run).

We had quite the laugh at work. Glenn said he was about to light his cigarette and it almost fell out out his mouth because he was laughing so hard, when he realized I had been riding around with the thing still on my bike.

It sure made the garage smell niiiiice!

The Boys Are Back in Town

It's the day Motörheadbangers have been waiting for. The beast is unleashed in North America!

First stop August 28/09, First Avenue & 7th Street Eatery Minneapolis.

For more info, you can check out the venue here First Avenue.

Lemmy recently sat down with Melanie Falina of the examiner.com for a bit of a Q&A on touring and everything in between.

Here's her write up One Lucky Devil.

This is also (on Aug. 26/09 I believe) the one year anniversary of the release of Motörizer.

And guess what, Lemmy says the boys will be heading into the studio to record a new Album/CD in January 2010.

Motörizer is like their... what, 24th studio album? And in MHO, it was pretty good. What could possibly be on the next album that they haven't already covered?

(I absolutely love that pic of Lemmy)

I mean Lemmy is 63! The band will be 35! And, and... oh, who frickn' cares, it's Motörhead and that's how they roll!

Mikkey's out, Matt Sorum is in!

It's hard to imagine Motörhead without Mikkey Dee, but that's whats happening as the band embarks on their North American tour.

Mikkey will only be sitting behind the drum kit for the first and final shows of this tour (29 city in total) across the US and Canada.

According to reports from blabbermouth.net, Mikkey will be a cast member in season one of the Swedish show 'Kändisdjungeln'. It's Sweden's version of 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Of Here!'.

Taking his place, Matt Sorum (Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver, The Cult) but Matt wasn't Lemmy's first choice, Dave Grohl was.

The first North American date in support of the new Motörizer CD, is Friday August 28th in Minneapolis. Lemmy sat down with Aaron Small from BraveWords.com to discuss the situation.

According to Lemmy, Mikkey Isn't very fond of bugs and the show is being shot in the jungles of Malaysia. As for Mikkey's chances of winning, now that I know that... all bets are off!

Vanillaroma

It was truly a WTF moment!

I walked out of work and found a Vanillaroma air freshener hanging from the mirror of my bike.

I don't know who the prankster was who put it there, but I thought it was kinda' cool so... for $hit$ & giggle$ I left it on.

Funny thing is, I actually caught the odd whiff of it as I was riding home. At stop lights and then stuck in traffic. And ya know... it didn't smell all that bad either!

What was even funnier... the looks from other drivers in their vehicles as I was zipping past em'.

You could all but read their lips. "Hey Martha, does he have an air freshener on the mirror of his motorcycle?"

And then they'd say... "Did that young man just give us the mini-me salute?"
